El tema "Stay" interpretado por el cantante noruego Tooji representará a Noruega en el Festival Eurovisión 2012, luego de superar a los 9 candidatos participantes en la final del Melodi Grand Prix noruego. La melodia fue galardonada con el primer lugar a través del televoto. Además fue la segunda preferida del jurado.

Tooji deberá defender su cancion, de ritmos dance con toques árabes, en la segunda semifinal de Eurovisión a realizarse el 24 de mayo den Bakú.

Tooji Keshtkar, como es su nombre completo, nació en Irán en la ciudad de Shiraz en el año 1987 y ha vivido en Noruega desde que tenía un año de edad. Comenzó a trabajar como modelo y presentador de shows a los 16 años. Posteriormente estudió para a trabajar como educador social en el organismo estatal "Barnevern", donde brinda ayuda a niños y adolescentes que han inmigrado a Noruega y atraviesan una situación de exclusión social.

"Me siento afortunado de tener a mi familia cerca de mi, un sitio donde dormir y un techo para protegerme. Conozco mucha gente que vive en malas condiciones, a niños y adolescentes que crecen en el dolor y la miseria y me causan rabia las leyes y los políticos no ayudan como deberían. Es por eso que para mi es una motivación inmensa dar voz a aquellos que no son oidos - a través de mi música", declara Tooji. En entrevista con la cadena de televisión estatal NRK Tooji relató que él mismo al llegar a Noruega, vivió junto a su familia en un "asylmottak" (lugar de recibimiento para asilados) y que deseaba prestar ayuda a niños y adolecentes inmigrantes.

Los otros temas que llegaron a la final del sábado
En la competencia  del Melodi Grand Prix participaron un total de 24 artistas en tres semifinales previas.

La gran final del certamen tuvo lugar este sábado 11 de febrero en el Oslo Spektrum. El tema ganador se eligió bajo un sistema mixto de televoto y un jurado lo que le dio a Tooji el triunfo final.
